עִירוֹנִי, עִירָנִיm. (denom. of עִור II) inhabitant of a country town, provincial. Gen. R. s. 50, end אחד ע׳ ואחד בן המדינה one from a country town and another from a capital. Y.Ned.VII, end, 40c נראין … בע׳ R. Meïrs opinion seems acceptable in the case of a provincial (who uses בַּיִת in the sense of the lower rooms, contrad. to עליה). Lev.
